Showcases are a great way to demonstrate how you're using your own data and gives you a chance to show off your work. A showcase could be anything - an app, website, data visualisation, article, blog, or report.
Showcases collect together the best examples of datasets in use, to provide further insight, ideas, and inspiration. The broader community benefits as well - by collecting and showcasing your work we can encourage the release of more open data by government, and better demonstrate how it fosters social and economic value.
Send the work you’d like to showcase to opendata@landgate.wa.gov.au and please include:
- A name for the showcase.
- A description of the work (2 - 3 paragraphs).
- Any tags relevant to the showcase (e.g. utilities, roads, transport) that would aid people searching for it.
- An image of the work you're showcasing (JPEG).
- A link to the work.
- A list of the datasets on data.wa.gov.au that are included in the showcase.
Tip: Showcases are most effective and useful when they're matched to the actual datasets on data.wa.gov.au that are included in the work you're showcasing. The Open Data Team will take care of associating them with datasets, but to do so we do need a list of dataset names included as part of your submission.
In submitting a showcase it may help to look through the gallery of data.wa.gov.au showcases to get an idea of what others have submitted.
